The Clock Has Struck Midnight on the runDisney Glass Slipper Challenge

What a crazy, crazy day in runDisney land!  In April, runDisney announced an all new challenge--the "Glass Slipper Challenge".  This challenge include the runDisney Princess Half marathon, plus a 10k race the day before.  With the popularity of the "Dumbo Double Dare", a similar challenge on the west coast, I know this challenge with be hot, hot, hot!  Last week, Disney Parks annual pass holders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa holder could register early.  Then today at noon, the Princess Half marathon, the Enchanted 10k and the Glass Slipper Challenge opened to the public.  I had every expectation that challenge would sell out today, but I was surprised it sold out in 6 hours!  Amazing!

So how do I feel about all this?  First, I am super psyched about doing the challenge!  I was lucky enough to register early last week.  I typically do the runDisney 5k the day before the half, so I am not to worried about being able to complete the challenge.
The thing I worry about most is the early, early mornings.  I am glad it took 6 hours to sell out--that gave everyone plenty of time to get to a computer and register.  The half marathon and the 10k still have opening, but the challenge is full.  The clock has struck midnight on the Glass Slipper Challenge!

Will you be at the runDisney Princess Half Marathon weekend in 2014?  What events are you planning on participating in?

A dream is a wish...

  1. I watched the status bar fill up while at work. I'm so glad that I registered with early registration.

  2. I'm running with Give Kids the World for the Glass Slipper Challenge!! YAY!!!

  3. I will be there! Excited to participate in this weekend, again! :0)

  4. I'll be there! PHM only for me, since it's my first half and also a family trip, didn't want to take up the whole trip with racing!

  5. Yes! I signed up yesterday to run my first Princess 1/2 ... which will also be my first half marathon ever. I've known for months that I wanted Princess to be my first half. I was already thinking about it before I ran my first 5K, haha. I'm going to do a 10-miler in October to try and get a decent corral. I'm so excited for Princess! :)

  6. I'm thankful my boyfriend was able to register me for the Glass Slipper Challenge! I've done the Princess one other time and it was great. Looking forward to the new challenge and planning my race outfit :)

  7. HI,
I'm a new reader here! I too will be running the GSC.

  8. I still can't believe that GSC sold out that quickly. RunDisney has become to popular. I am signed up and super excited! Hoping to be able to meet #teamrundisney members. I'm also signed up for the Jingle Jungle 5k in November as a fun holiday race to do :)
