Ok fellow princesses, its confession time—I don’t have a
race outfit picked out left! I have so
many outfit options but none I am totally crazy about. Please help me choose. Here are my options:
1)
My first
option outfit is my Picasso Pink SparkleSkirt!
I love how this skirt fits me and it is very comfortable to run in. I have paired it with a black Champion tech
shirt. The thing that is holding me back
from this outfit is that I hate my knees.
I know, it sounds crazy. I never
wear shorts because I hate how my knees look in them. I know lots of picture will be taken at the
race. I don’t want to be constantly
complaining that my knees look funny in every picture.
2)
My next option is a skirt my little sister
helped me make. I bought the fabric and
cut it into six trapezoid shaped pieces, 6 inches at the top and 8 inches at
the bottom. My sister and I sewed them
together then added a waist band and hemmed the bottom. The skirt does not fit me well and it not
very flattering. I love that we made it
together.
3)
My third option would be to buy a Sparkle Skirt
at the expo. I would buy a jeweled
purple skirt to dress as Rapunzel. It
has been my plan all this time to dress as Rapunzel, but I was holding out for
a SparkleSkirt SparkleTech—a skirt with legs built in. It does not look like they will have those
ready for the race, so I would have to get a SparkleTech and wear capris
under.
Such decisions!
Please help me choose. What
option do you like? What will you be
wearing to the race?
A dream is a wish…

At Tinkerbell I had capris on under my sparkle skirt as I wear compression bottoms, at the expo there was another skirt company that had skirts with shorts underneath.
ReplyDeleteCowgirl Warrior--That is good to know! I will have to check them out. I do love my compression bottoms!
ReplyDeleteI'd go with the short skirt. I know there will be lots of pictures and you may not love all of them with your knees showing but it is going to be HOT! I was planning on capris but switched to shorts with the forecasts of 80+ degrees.
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing knee length shorts with a tutu over it (I have my own insecurities that I'm trying to hide under that tutu!)
I was going to suggest wearing some sort of capris under the sparkle skirt you have, but might be too hot. I say go with the pink sparkle skirt. Maybe you'll think differently about your knees after they get you across the finish line.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Andrea, the pink sparkle skirt. I definitely understand the picture-thing, our eyes are drawn to what we think of as our worst feature! I am wearing a tank because it looks good with the rest of the outfit, but am hoping not to cringe at my arms in each picture.
ReplyDeleteBottom line - based on the picture you posted, your legs look great in the skirt - go pink!!
Your knees look much better than you probably think they do. :-) If the pink skirt and black top makes your comfortable, go for it! If you would rather a purple, check out the expo for the SparkleSkirts or Team Sparkle.
ReplyDeleteJust think - most pics will probably be waist up! Put a big 'ol smile on your face and nobody will be looking at your knees! :)
ReplyDeletei HATE my knees too!!! i am wearing a sparkle skirt with capris under them! BUT, looking at the first picture, YOUR knees look good!!!
ReplyDeleteI think that your outfit in the first picture looks GREAT!
ReplyDeleteIts all about what you are most comfortable in! :)
I'm wearing a Sparkle skirt too!! I say go with option #1! The other's sound too hot!! (and your knees look fine-really!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement ladies! I just love you guys! Thank you for pointing out that we all have our own insecurities and usually we notice it so much more often than others. Now that I am doing the 5k also, I plan to wear the pink for the half and the purple for the Tangled Royal Family 5k. Only 6 days left! See you all at the finish line.
ReplyDeleteEmbrace your strong runners body ...knees are rarely "attractive" but the are a part of a runners body that needs to be loved...otherwise they can turn on you ;) the first outfit is great and you look confident in it!
